Here are some of the best signs from the 2020 Women's March. Today, protesters around the country united for the 4th annual Women’s March, where women and allies rallied in support of reproductive rights, immigrant rights, gun reform, climate justice, and more. Protests were held in cities like Washington, D.C., New York City, and Los Angeles.

At one point, protesters gathered to perform the global feminist anthem ‘A Rapist in Your Path’ in Washington, D.C.. The song was first written and performed during national protests in Chile last year and has since been sung around the world.

In New York, Evelyn Yang opened up about surviving sexual assault and why she decided to speak out. Evelyn, who is married to Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, first spoke about being abused by her OB/GYN in an interview with CNN.

Some of the signs spotted at the protests included phrases like, ‘So much wrong, so little poster’ ‘Public Cervix Announcement: F*ck the patriarchy’ ‘Does this ass make my country look small?’

The Unique Benefits of Teletherapy.

#BlackTherapist #Teletherapy #Triple5LightTherapy.com #AfricanAmerican #Therapist  b y   Margarita Tartakovsky, M.S. Teletherapy is seen as an inferior alternative to in-person therapy. But while it has some drawbacks, online therapy has plenty of pluses, too. First the drawbacks: Some clients miss their therapist’s office, which they associate with safety and healing, said  Jodi Aman , LCSW, a psychotherapist in Rochester, N.Y. Technical difficulties—from poor internet connections to visibility issues–can interrupt sessions. Finding a private, quiet space at home can be challenging. Still, many people prefer teletherapy. As psychologist  Regine Galanti , Ph.D, pointed out, the biggest myth about teletherapy is that it’s “a plan B approach.” Many of Galanti’s clients have been doing online sessions for years. Her teen clients, in particular, like attending therapy in their own space. Teletherapy is also convenient. “[I]t removes time barriers for people to ...

National Ice Cream Day : Where to Get Free Ice Cream This Sunday, July 21st

#IceCream #IceCreamSandwich #NationalIceCreamDay #NationalIceCreamMonth July is National Ice Cream Month, and Sunday is National Ice Cream Day, so it’s time for discounts. Refinery29 and U.S. News have lists of chains offering free and discounted ice cream. Some deals are just for Sunday, some run all next week, and some are around all month. The outlook isn’t as great as National Donut Day , when several national chains handed out free donuts, some just asking you to buy a coffee first. So far there are only two truly free nationwide deals: “Mini cups” for two hours at Dippin’ Dots, and a free small Blizzard if you download the Dairy Queen app. Pizza chain Your Pie is giving out free gelato on Sunday. Baskin-Robbins, Cold Stone, and Carvel have a buy-one-get-one deal. Ben & Jerry’s stores are offering nothing, which sounds less hippie and more Republican. Their pints are two for $6 at Whole Foods, Friday to Saturday. The rich get richer. Know any ice cream deals at yo...

#Hug #Hugging #Emotions #Stress #Mood #BlackMaleTherapist #Psychotherapy #MentalHealth  During the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdowns and restrictions, one of the things many people missed most was getting hugged by their loved ones. This led to an increased interest in the positive effects of hugging in the psychology research community and several studies published over the last year have yielded new insights on what it means to us to be hugged. Here are four of the most interesting new insights into the science of hugging. 1. Getting hugged by others, but also hugging yourself, reduces stress hormones A recent study by researcher Aljoscha Dreisoerner from the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany, and his team focused on the positive effects of hugging on stress (Dreisoerner et al., 2021). Interestingly, the scientists not only investigated how getting hugged by other people could reduce stress, but also whether hugging yourself (e.g., when other people are not ...
