'RuPaul's Drag Race' judge Michelle Visage on how the 'queerest show on television' is helping troubled kids

#MichelleVisage #RuPaul #RuPaulsDragRace #LGBTQ #LGBTQyouth  #LGBTQ+ Against all odds,  RuPaul’s Drag Race  has become a massive pop-cultural force. After 10 seasons (plus  three  all-star seasons), it’s surprisingly bigger than ever, racking up its highest ratings yet this year. Musical contestants like  Adore Delano ,  Blair St. Clair , and  Trixie Mattel  have landed albums on the  Billboard  charts;  Drag Race  catchphrases like “not today, Satan!” and “hieeeee” have become part of the mainstream vernacular;  RuPaul’s Dragcon  conventions draw thousands of fans on both coasts; RuPaul Charles has won two consecutive  Emmys  for Best Reality Host; and now the show has a very good chance of sashaying away with this year’s big Emmy prize, for Best Reality Competition. Longtime  Drag Race  judge Michelle Visage tells Yahoo Entertainment that the slowly building success of the series surprises her. “It’s just the queerest show on television. Tonight!: Ru-Paul's Drag Race Season 11 Finale - Who's Gonna Win?

#BrookeLynHytes #Rupaul #RuPaulsDragRace #SilkyNutmegGanache #AKeriaChanelDavenport #YvieOddly 4th: Silky Nutmeg Ganache METTIE OSTROWSKI FOR EW Aside from what certain fans might think (Silky’s larger-than-life personality hasn’t exactly received the warmest welcome from some viewers), RuPaul — and Drag Race — are clearly in love with the four-course meal of extra-extra-extra personality and glitz this beauty queen has served since episode 1. That being said, it’s likely that Silky’s made-for-TV attitude is what kept her around for so long, as her runway looks haven’t been (and the judges have said as much) up to par with what the other girls have produced — even girls like Ra’Jah O’Hara and Scarlet Envy, who went home many weeks before Silky cemented a spot in the finale. For all the ways Silky has rubbed America wrong this season, it’s important to remember we’re simply watching a minuscule portion of a complete stranger’s life unfold via brief, heavily

Shangela Performed A Beyoncé Medley — In Front Of Beyoncé — And Got A Standing Ovation

#Beyonce, #JayZ #GLAADMediaAwards  #DragQueen #Shangela #ShangelaLaquifaWadley #RuPaulsDragRace Beyoncé and Jay-Z were honored at the GLAAD Media Awards, where they were treated to a special performance from one of America's favorite drag queens. Former Drag Race star Shangela Laquifa Wadley, known to her many fans as simply “Shangela,” performed for  Beyoncé  and Jay-Z at this year’s GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday night, adding to her already banner year. The drag queen, who was the first runner-up on  RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3  and recently appeared in  A Star Is Born , delved into a 7-minute medley of Beyoncé tunes — and she was so good that Queen Bey herself gave her a standing ovation. Shangela's performance was designed to honored the Carters, who were attending the ceremony to  accept the Vanguard Award , which celebrates folks in entertainment who advocate equal rights for LGBT people even though they don’t identify with the community themselves.
